Richard J. Ryan is a co-founding partner of Harwood Lloyd, LLC., specializing in wills, trusts and estates for more than 40 years. With knowledge of and experience in the vast changes affecting estate planning and the associated gift and estate taxes, he assists in developing and implementing realistic estate plans in concert with members of the Wills, Trusts, and Estates Department.
Mr. Ryan attended Villanova University and received his B.S. from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1961. He received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1964.
Mr. Ryan is past Councilman and Council President, Borough of Hillsdale, past President of Estate Planning Council of Bergen County, Inc., and Counsel, City of Hackensack, 1985 to 1986.
For more than 10 years, his peers have awarded him the LexisNexis-Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating, 5.0 out of 5.0.
Mr. Ryan is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New Jersey (1965), the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (1965), and the United States Supreme Court (1969).
Mr. Ryan is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Bergen County Bar Association.
