Partner Kristine Denning Attains No Cause Verdict at Jury Trial.

Partner Kristine Denning attained a favorable verdict in Purnell v. Nedunchezhian , HUD-L-2778-16.  The case was tried before a jury and the Honorable M. Galis-Menendez, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of N.J., Law Division, Hudson County,  on July 23, 2018 and July 25, 2018.   Liability for the subject automobile accident and the extent of any resulting bodily injuries were in dispute.  Plaintiff alleged that the defendant ran a red light and caused the subject accident resulting in serious and permanent injuries to her neck and back.  The defendant argued that he had a green light and that the accident, in any event, was so minor that no permanent injuries were sustained.  Plaintiff alleged neck and back injuries including disc herniations for which she underwent chiropractic treatment and epidural injection treatment.  The case was tried on an expedited basis. The parties testified and extensive portions of the plaintiff’s medical records and each party’s medical experts’ reports were submitted to the jury for review.  By a unanimous vote of 6–0, the jury found that the defendant was not negligent with regard to the happening of the accident and returned a verdict in favor of the defendant.
