Partner Thomas Loikith Speaks at the Bergen County Bar Association’s Annual Diversity in the Profession Dinner and Awards Ceremony and Program

Commercial Transaction Department partner Thomas Loikith, president of the Bergen County Bar Association, presented the introductory remarks at the annual Diversity in the Profession Dinner and award ceremony held at Biagio’s Ristorante in Paramus, New Jersey. The Diversity in the Profession Dinner, co-sponsored by the Bergen County Bar Association, through its Diversity in the Profession Committee, and Women Lawyers in Bergen, has been held for the past decade to highlight the legal profession’s ongoing need to work for greater diversity and inclusion. At the dinner, the Diversity in the Profession Award is presented to an attorney, law firm or non-lawyer in recognition of their efforts and achievements in advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. This year’s award recipient was retired New Jersey Superior Court Judge Elijah L. Miller, Jr. who was honored for all that he has done and continues to do in exemplifying and advancing the values of diversity and inclusion both in the legal profession and in the larger society. In addition to the dinner and award ceremony, a panel of speakers presented a program on addressing sexual harassment in the workplace. Mr. Loikith has been a trustee of the Bergen County Bar Association since 2008 and an officer since 2013. He was installed as the 120th president of the Association on March 22, 2018. Mr. Loikith is also president of the Bergen County Bar Foundation. He has been a trustee of the Foundation since 2007, served as vice president of the Foundation from 2010-2012 and president of the Foundation since 2012. His term as president of the Foundation ends on April 30, 2018.
