February 8, 2018 Partner David Robertson Gives Presentation to International Association of Insurance Professionals

On February 8, 2018 Partner David Robertson gave a presentation to the International Association of Insurance Professionals concerning the law of bad faith in New Jersey and automobile technology as related to fraudulent insurance claims. As to bad faith, he discussed the law concerning both first-party bad faith and third-party bad faith. Mr. Robertson further discussed insurance carriers resolving first and third-party claims when potentially legitimate bad faith claims are asserted. As to automobile technology, Mr. Robertson discussed the evolution of automobile theft claims being resolved as a result of this technology. As he pointed out, in recent decades the addition of cell phones with cell tower records, smart keys, EZ Pass records, LoJack, black boxes, interrogation of infotainment systems, and other such technology has revolutionized theft claim investigations. Mr. Robertson is a partner in the firm’s Insurance Litigation Department. He specializes in insurance defense litigation, municipal law, arson and insurance fraud, insurance bad faith defense, legal ethics and professional responsibility. He is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney.
