Harwood Lloyd Associate Leidy J. Gutierrez Elected Chairperson Of The Young Lawyers Committee Of The Hispanic Bar Association Of New Jersey.

At a Special Meeting held on November 6, 2017, Leidy J. Gutierrez, an associate in the General Litigation Department of Harwood Lloyd, was elected Chairperson of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey (HBA-NJ).

Leidy, a 2016 graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law and former law clerk to the Hon. Bonnie J. Mizdol, A.J.S.C., has been a member of the Young Lawyers Committee since 2013, having previously served in the capacity of student representative and committee member.

Founded in 1980, the HBA-NJ, a 501(c)(6) statewide organization, represents the interests of attorneys, judges, law professors and law students who share a common interest in issues affecting Hispanics within the legal community. The purpose of the Association is to serve the public interest by cultivating the art and science of jurisprudence, by advancing the standing of the legal profession, and by preserving high standards of integrity, honor, and professional courtesy among Hispanic lawyers.

In addition to its many initiatives, programs, and public advocacy activities, the HBA-NJ cooperates with Hispanic bar organizations, Hispanic community, business, civic, charitable and cultural organizations, as well as with other legal organizations in furtherance of the aforementioned purposes.

The Young Lawyers Committee is responsible for furthering the goals of the HBA-NJ in serving the Hispanic community and legal profession, while also furthering the interests of its young professional members. The committee serves its young professional members with mentorship, professional guidance, leadership development, and networking opportunities.
