Russell A. Pepe is a partner in Harwood Lloyd’s Litigation Department. For over a decade he has been certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney. Specializing in insurance, personal injury and asbestos litigation, Mr. Pepe has tried in excess of 100 cases in the state and federal courts of New Jersey.
Mr. Pepe received his B.S. with honors from Ohio University in 1975. He received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1978.
Mr. Pepe was law clerk to Hon. Benedict E. Lucchi, Judge, Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Bergen County for the 1978-1979 term.
Mr. Pepe is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New Jersey (1978), the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (1978), and the State of New York (1980).
Mr. Pepe is a frequent lecturer on insurance defense and asbestos defense related issues.
Mr. Pepe has been a Trustee of the Allendale Foundation for Educational Excellence, Inc. and was a member of the Allendale Planning Board, serving as its Vice Chairman in 2001-2002.
Mr. Pepe is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Bergen County Bar Association, the National Panel of Arbitrators, the American Arbitration Association, and The Defense Research Institute, Inc.
Mr. Pepe has been named by New Jersey Super Lawyers® magazine as one of the top attorneys in New Jersey for 2018. The selections for this list are made by the research team at Super Lawyers, which is a service of the Thompson Reuters, Legal division based in Egan, MN. Certified Civil Trial Attorneys have demonstrated levels of experience, education, knowledge and skill in civil trial practice as recognized by other attorneys and judges familiar with their work. To attain and maintain this designation involved a written examination and ongoing continuing legal education requirements in civil trial law. Less than 2% of New Jersey attorneys are certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court.
